Licensing Out activity

Licensing Out is the Department of IUCT in charge of negotiating the license of products & technologies obtained as a result of its research activity.

From the projects that are carried out in InKemia IUCT group we obtain new products, processes and technologies that become part of the group’s pipeline and can be patented, used as know-how or become part of a new technological platform. All these new technologies could later become part of the industry through a technological transfer process or a license.

Exopolysaccharides

InKemia IUCT has found a wide variety of exopolysaccharides (EPS), products with a high potential as active ingredients in several fields like human and veterinary drugs, cosmetics, and functional foods among others. We have about 100 different compounds up to date, the majority of them ready to be tested. Through different co-development agreements InKemia IUCT has started several research lines to study the use of our EPS in Alzheimer’s disease and cosmetic applications and we will start new researches soon to increase the use of the EPS.

INKEMIA IUCT GROUP’S PATENTS

InKemia’s IUCT group knowledge division now reaches the number of 62 patents granted.

These granted patents are of international nature and reach over 20 different countries, some of these patents have long term potential and can be exploited until the year 2030.

It is important to note that a great number of these patents are currently under revision and their gradual approval is expected over the next few months. Both the patents in process and the granted ones can be concentrated into 25 groups that are multiplied as they are presented throughout different countries, therefore all the patents could result in over 150 patents by the end of the process.

LABORATORY

Laboratory of chromatographic techniques

Two laboratories for chromatographic techniques, both at analytical and preparative level. IUCT has also capabilities for metal analysis through atomic absorption and stability test according to ICH regulations.

Equipments: HPLC-MS, GC-FID, GC-MS, direct induction MS, HeadSpace for GC, HPLC-UV (allowing high pressure gradients), HPLC-Diode Array (with automatic injection and quaternary pump), Atomic absorption (flame+ hydrides), Atomic absorption (graphite chamber) and ICH compliance climatic chambers

 

High Throughput Analysis Laboratory

The HTA system integrates HPLC, MS3 , UV-DAD and 400 MHz NMR techniques by means of robotization. This system is the first one ever installed in Spain and it has been designed and created optimizing the interphases between the traditional analytical and characterization systems, in order to achieve a quick analysis and characterization of chemical collections. HTA system provides rapid and high efficient information on the structure and purity of compounds collections.

 

 

Laboratory of chemical synthesis

Multifunctional area equipped with automatic reactors to carry out the optimization of chemical processes, high pressure reactors, equipment and instruments for parallel synthesis, parallel evaporation and purification, among others.

The versatility of these areas allows the development of multiple R&D projects focused on drug discovery (traditional combinatorial chemistry, medicinal chemistry, design and preparation of chemical libraries), drug development (Galenic development and preformulation) and green chemistry (development and optimization of ecoefficient synthetic routes, formulation design for biodegradable chemical product, development of new solvent with a low toxicological profile).

 

Pharmaceutical Pilot Plant

The pilot plant for manufacturing of pharmaceutical products consists on a restricted area with rooms class ISO7 and rooms class ISO8 according to the regulations of ISO 14644-1:1999. The pilot plant complies with current safety and quality requirements in accordance with GMP guidelines which allow the preparation of solid, semisolid and liquid non-sterile pharmaceutical forms. This area also includes a class ISO5 room to carry out the weighting of materials. The pilot plant includes a “V” homogenizer, Sieve, Kneader,  Drying Oven, Compressing machine, coating pump, blister conditioning line Alu-Alu and PVC-Alu, 20L and 60L reactors and equipment and instruments for the physical and chemical control on finished product.

 

Microbiology and biotechnology laboratories

Two laboratories provided with specific equipment for microbiological operations in a non contaminating environment and with adequate environmental and asepsis conditions.

Equipment: Autoclaves, Laminar Flow Cabins, Incubators, Fluorescent Microscopy, Fermentation Test Unit, Revco Freezer, Colonies Counter, Shaker, Thermostated Bath, filtration Ramps, Stomacher, among others.

  
 
 

Scientific and Technical Library

This space is reserved for the consultation and research of bibliographical documentation prior to the development of an R&D Project. The documentation available covers the pharmaceutical chemistry, biology, safety and engineering areas.

The library includes high impact journals in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical technology, biotechnology and microbiology, among other.

GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY–MASS SPECTROMETRY GC-MS

Gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometric detector. This system allows also the direct introduction of the sample.

GC-FID

Several gas chromatography Systems with FID detector and automatic injection, also allowing HeadSpace system for the analysis of volatiles compounds.

HIGH PERFORMANCE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY (HPLC)

HPLC equipment with multiple pumping, automatic sample introduction, thermostated column and DAD detection.

ATOMIC ABSORPTION-GRAPHITE OVEN

Determination of metals by means of atomic absorbtion wich incorporates Autosample to allow the process to be monitored.

ATOMIC/EMISSION ABSORPTION-FAME-HYDRIDE GENERATION

Equipment for flame atomic absorption/emission with lamps to determine metals by emission, by absorption and by hydride generation in any matrix

FTIR

Infrared spectrophotometer using Fourier transformer (FT) in the infrared medium (MIR)

UV-DAD

Diode Array Ultraviolet Spectophotometer Continuous determinations through flow cells

REACTOR LAB-MAX

Automated LABMAX reactor for the optimisation of Kilolab scale chemical processes. This equipment is able to control and monitories the reaction parameters.

PRESSURE REACTOR

Equipment for carrying out reactions at high presurre (up to 10 bares and 150ºC)

ROBOT COLECTOR ARM

Robotic system for the preparation, dissolution and recollection of samples with the main function of the introduction samples in the NMR equipment of the HTA system. Also used as a robotic support in parallel synthesis for the preparation samples.

ORBITAL AGITATION SYSTEM

Semiautomatic orbital agitation system of solid estate reactions (Advanced Chemistry, SPOS) and in Solutions for combinational chemistry reactions or multiple parallel síntesis. It is prepared to carry out 18 simultaneous reactions at the same conditions of agitation and temperature.

RADLEY’S CARROUSEL SYSTEM

Versatile equipment used in Medicinal Chemisrty and Chemicals development of processes for the optimisation of the reaction conditions with capacity for 12 simultaneous reactions and with temperature control at high and low temperature, inert temperature, among other properties. This system allows both solid and liquid state reactions.

BIOTAGE PARALLEL PURIFICATION SYSTEM

Flash chromatography parallel system which has the possibility of working with 8-12 samples simultaneous.

EVAPORATOR-GENOVAC

Equipment used in the massive preparation of the synthesis as it permits the simultaneous evaporation of a multitude of fractions with different configurations. It covers a wide range of solvents including HPLC fractions and DMF.

CLIMATIC CHAMBERS

Climatic chambers for stability test studies in accordance with ICH guidelines, calibrated for different temperatura and humidity conditions.

DISSOLUTION TEST

Equipment used for the determination of time course of active principle dissolution under pre-established pH and temperature conditions

AUTOMATIC TRITRATOR

Versatile equipment for automatic tritations through different electrodes to carry out potenciometric studies, chloride determination and simple watercontent (Karl Fischer)

COVERING PUMP

Stainless steel pump with air treatment filter EU3 and EU7. This equipment is also provided with a dosage dispenser with a Watson Marlow peristaltic pump and a software controlled system.

COMPRESSING MACHINE

Equipped with 10 stations and 8 mm biconvex burin punch, able to reach maximum speed of 30 rpm.

LIQUID AND SEMISOLID REACTOR

With a useful capacity of 50L, this reactor is provided with an ancora central agitation, Turrax homogeniser agitation and doublé wall for temperatura control.

BLISTER SHAPER

Automatic machine for shaping blisters in PVC or in aluminum with a máximum size of 250x160mm

“V” HOMOGENISER

Use for a perfect homogenization of the solid products, this equipment has a capacity of 5L. 

ESTUFAS DE SECADO

La Planta Piloto dispone de dos estufas de secado com uma capacidad de 108 Litros cada uma y com um rango de temperaturas desde temperatura ambiente hasta 220ºC.

CABINA DE FLUJO LAMINAR

Com um caudal de 1.475 m3/hora, 0,40 m/s de velocidad de aire y filtros HEPA/ULPA H14 99,999%, esta cabina de seguridad biológica cuenta com dos ventiladores de alta eficácia, uno de impulsión y outro de extracción.

Becas del 50% para Alumnos Nacionales y Extranjeros

 

BECAS DEL 50% PARA ALUMNOS RESIDENTES EN ESPAÑA

Estas becas y ayudas las podrán solicitar estudiantes de nacionalidad Española y extranjeros residentes en España.

Las becas se asignarán por orden de recepción hasta 3 meses antes del inicio del Máster.

Estás becas son limitadas y se tendrá en cuenta la renta familiar según los varemos que se detallan a continuación:

Las becas se otorgarán a los alumnos que cumplan los criterios de admisión. Se realizará un escalado por orden de renta familiar hasta agotar las plazas de beca disponibles.

Los alumnos a los que se les otorgue esta beca dispondrán de un plazo máximo 1 mes desde la fecha de la adjudicación, para la formalización de la matrícula. Pasado este tiempo se perderá la beca.

Los alumnos que dispongan de una beca del 50% deberán colaborar en actividades de IUCT, por un número máximo de horas equivalente a las horas de prácticas de empresa.


La colaboración podrá ser en alguna de las siguientes actividades:

Tareas de administración y gestión general, funcionamiento de la biblioteca, gestión de laboratorios o almacenes, colaboración en la página web u otros sistemas de difusión…

Esta colaboración se llevará a cabo de lunes a viernes entre las 9 y las 18 h, realizando un máximo de 4 horas/día.
El horario concreto y el número de horas final se acordarán con el alumno una vez iniciado el Máster.

En caso que IUCT lo requiera, el alumno becado realizará las prácticas obligatorias de empresa incluidas en el Máster, en las empresas agrupadas en InKemia IUCT group.

NOTAS

Estas becas no son acumulables con otras ayudas, becas u ofertas.

Los alumnos becados tendrán la obligación de seguir todas las normas de funcionamiento de IUCT mientras colaboren con el centro, de lo contrario podrían perder la beca.

  • Los trabajadores de la empresa ISDIN cuentan con un descuento del 5% en todos los Masters, Postgrados, Cursos de Especialización y Seminarios que se realizan en IUCT, tanto en las sedes de Barcelona como de Madrid.

1. Descuentos en la matrícula de cursos abiertos
